As with all universities, degree programs cover all areas like English literature (novelist) , history, journalism, law, business/entrepreneurial studies, computer science, computer engineering (hardware and software), and science. As well, like most universities each area has an associated department. However, we go further in allowing the student to develop (tailor) their chosen area of study in any manner that they wish. This includes developing new, hybrid, areas of study. Students have the freedom, that exists in no other university, to take their studies in any direction they wishes - to truely explore the world around them. This is due to the university's unique structure, and existential philosophy. Further, it is from this philosophical foundation that the understanding, that all subjects (areas of study) are -essentially- a philosophy and that they have a common academic core, a program can be (and was) designed that will allow students to study any field. As such, from this basis, switching fields, would not mean starting over.
To compliment the academic core, the course, "Practical Applications of Knowledge & Theory", will be the course in which students develop their chosen area of study. This course takes the student beyond the textbook, into experience. This course begins in the first semester, where the student begins to research the industry (and/or the work opportunities) in their chosen area of study (major). As well, it is here that they begin to learn how to budget for various expenses, and income taxes. It is this course, which runs through each semester, integrating theory learn, with experience required to succeed, in their chosen field. However, it is not simply a co-op course, it is the key to understanding the objective philosophy of existence; experience. The academic courses teach the, "why we live", and the course(s), "Practical Applications of Knowledge & Theory", teach the, "how we live", of the philosophy known as existentialism. Since, philosophy is paramount, and experience teaches philosophy, the when a student repeats a semester, they are gaining more experience. This will lead to a greater understanding of philosophy, the foundation, of who they are to become. Thus, even failure is significant, and progressive, in gaining a good academic understanding. Therefore, the first semester, challenges the student, to whom, only mundane jobs are available, to find value, and academic experience, in their daily tasks, and lives.
In the second semester, the course "P.A.K.P.", continues, as in the first. However, it is expected, that the student, will begin to associate the reality of his area of study, with philosophy, and as a philosophy. He will look at the ideals, history, and realities of his area of study. This, will lead to the third semester, where he will begin studying the mechanics of his area of study. The student, will study real examples, writing critical analysis's to publish, in related publications. In the succeeding semester, the student, will continue on, as on a journey, walking the path, experiencing the philosophy, of the academic experience.
